Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital Announces Opening of Advanced Pediatric Surgical Specialists

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 10, 2008 – Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of a new practice, Advanced Pediatric Surgical Specialists. Dr. Bryan C. Weidner and Dr. Christopher M. Anderson make up the practice located in the Medical Office Plaza adjacent to Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital.

The practice will offer pediatric services including general head, neck, thoracic and abdominal surgery; orchiopexy; minimally invasive surgery, including throacoscopic surgery; pediatric surgical oncology; chest wall deformities; hernia/hydrocele repair; and prenatal counseling.

Weidner is board certified in general surgery, surgical critical care and pediatric surgery. He completed his fellowship in pediatric surgery at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center and the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash. Most recently, he served as attending pediatric surgeon in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

Anderson is board certified in general surgery and board eligible in pediatric surgery. He completed a fellowship in pediatric laparoscopic surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.
