Caring for Your Children as if They Were Their Own.

At Florida Hospital for Children, one of the primary points of contact you and your child will have is our team of highly trained and experienced pediatric nurses. Our more than 400 nurses will take terrific care of your child and your family, reducing your stress and worry, offering encouragement and hope and ensuring that your child receives the best care possible.

When your child arrives, he/she will receive a special wristband that allows our nurses to double-check their records to make sure the recommended course of treatment is followed. They will also make sure that you understand all the procedures and processes so you can be at the center of your child’s care. We believe firmly that your family values, customs and beliefs are essential to your child’s health, healing and well-being. Our nurses will make sure that your wishes are taken into account during your child’s stay with us.

If you’re out in the community, don’t be too surprised to find a friendly face at local events and schools. Our nurses are a regular part of health and wellness initiatives throughout the community, including health assessments, health fairs and school education efforts to fight childhood obesity.

We are very proud of the legacy of quality care our nurses have continued to provide our patients since we first opened our doors more than a century ago.

In fact, our nurses were recently awarded the highest-ranking recognition given out by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). We are the only hospital in the Central Florida region to be a recipient of Magnet® recognition status, which recognizes hospitals for excellence in nursing. Nationwide, only seven percent of hospitals receive this designation, which honors outstanding patient care clinicians for excellence in leadership, clinical practice, innovations and positive outcomes.
