Making wise food choices can lead to a lifetime of good health, including better self-esteem, effectiveweight management and less exposure to ingredients such as salt, sugar and fats that can increase your chances of developing serious health issues down the road, including heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.
Through Healthy100 Kids, we give children, teens, families and the community at large the information they need to make good food and lifestyle choices throughout their lives, from birth to old age.
Our nutrition and lifestyle education experts show you how easy it is to make small changes that yield big results. This includes selecting the right snacks to have in your house, healthy meals that you can make in 15 minutes or less and how to select foods that are good for you, even when you’re dining out. We make it even easier with mobile apps that can help you track and monitor your progress.
But food is just part of the equation. We teach your child or teen and family how to become more active, finding physical activities that are fun and don’t feel a bit like a workout, and how to feel better about yourself, even if you’re a “work in progress.”
Our program has two tracks: one designed specifically for kids and one for teens.
Healthy100 Program for Kids
One can never start too early to learn how to take proper care of your body, mind and soul. Our program helps kids break the bad habits they already have and replace them with good ones that will lead to a lifetime of health and wellness. This includes eating right, staying active, exercising the mind as well as the body, understanding emotions, learning how the body works, the importance of rest and relaxation and how to have good relationships with friends and family. You and your child will even learn to prepare healthy meals together that are flavorful and nutritious.
The program includes group and individual coaching by a health coach who will monitor your child’s progress and help them stay on course. Your child can also benefit from one-on-one counseling with our child development professionals to discuss any issues he/she is having that may be preventing him/her from making the progress he/she so desperately wants and needs.
Healthy100 Program for Teens
Changes seem to be a way of life for teens, whether it’s changes to their body, their feelings about themselves or others, their health habits or food choices.
At this stage in life, habits and feelings can become so deeply ingrained that they become a permanent part of life, leading to health and wellness issues farther down the road.
To address these, we offer teens new perspectives on eating right, staying active, understanding the range of human emotions and the changes going on in the body, the importance of rest, how to have terrific relationships and how to deal with everyday life during this period of tremendous growth and change. We also show them how to prepare healthy, wholesome meals that are delicious and nutritious.
For teens who have self-esteem issues, are feeling anxious or depressed or are having behavioral or disciplinary problems, our team of counselors can meet with them to discuss their issues, identify any root causes and find new ways to address the issues through medication, counseling, lifestyle changes and therapy. Often, teens blossom once they find someone they can talk to who is not a peer or family member. We offer those opportunities so your teen can express his- or herself and learn how to grow and mature into a productive, happy adult.
