At the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children, our patients are our top priority. By continually striving to improve the patient experience, we’ve not only set the bar in the level of care our patients receive but in the style of care as well. Below are experiences shared with us from families who have visited our hospital’s intensive care unit:

Sam and Lucie

"My daughter Lucie was admitted to your hospital last summer, while we were on holiday from England. During her stay she became very ill with suspected Kawasaki disease, and ended up in intensive care on life support.

We had amazing care from your team, and I am so grateful for what they did to protect one of our most precious family members. Not only did Dr. Godshall and his team save Lucie, they also kept her 3 elder brothers, plus my husband and I safe from the pain that we had a small taste of.

Since returning to the UK, Lucie has been closely monitored, but returned to her normal self, with no apparent lasting effects of the disease. Her heart appears normal and I am convinced that is down to the excellent treatment that she received.

We would like to pass onto everyone on the unit our heartfelt thanks, although that word is nowhere near strong enough.

Please even in bad times be bolstered by the fact that you all really do make a difference.
