A Unique Approach to Your Child’s Health.
Here at Florida Hospital for Children, our medical professionals are dedicated to treating and healing the children of this community who suffer from cancer or blood disorders. Our physicians are of the highest caliber, including our Yale trained director of hematology and oncology, Dr. Hajjar.
With this program in place to serve children with blood disorders and cancer, families no longer have to travel across the country to get top quality, comprehensive care. We have all the technology, treatments and know-how to meet your child’s needs right here in Central Florida.
Our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Program treats a wide range of pediatric issues, including leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, anemia, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, blood and clotting disorders and thalassemia. We are also the first hospital in the region to have neuro-oncology and neurofibromatosis programs.
The program has been recognized by Children’s Medical Services of Florida (CMS) as one of the few medical centers qualified to treat children who are born with sickle cell anemia and other blood disorders that require special healthcare services.
We also work closely with our partner Kids Beating Cancer, an organization that helps our patients find bone marrow transplant donors, combing the country to locate a good match. They are continually adding to their extensive donor database and will work with you to find the best match for your child to increase the chances of success.
This, combined with our dedication to the comfort and care of our patients, has earned us an international reputation. From the time your child is diagnosed with a blood or cancer disorder until the time he/she leave our hospital for the very last time, know that he/she is in the best of hands.
